Core Cranial
At Core Insight Chiropractic, we believe the brain, spine, and nervous system work together as one connected system. While many people think chiropractic care only focuses on the spine; the skull and jaw can also play an important role in how the body feels and functions.
Core Cranial is a gentle, hands-on approach that focuses on the tissues and joints of the skull, jaw, and upper neck. The movements involved are very small, especially in adults, but the goal is not to “move bones” in a large way. Instead, the focus is on giving the nervous system the right input to help the body relax, adapt, and function more efficiently.
The skull and upper neck contain many important nerves and sensitive tissues connected to balance, jaw function, breathing, stress response, muscle tension, and pain control. Gentle cranial work may help calm and regulate the nervous system, improve movement and comfort in these areas, and support the body’s ability to adapt to stress.
Patients often seek this type of care for:
- Headaches
- Facial pain
- Jaw tension and TMJ issues
- Dizziness and vertigo
- Neck tension
- Stress-related tension
- Balance problems
Some patients also notice improvements in sleep, focus, relaxation, and overall well-being.
Cranial work is not commonly offered in most chiropractic offices.
At Core Insight, it is an important part of our approach. Drs. David Mattinen and Jennifer Drover are certified in Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) and Craniopathy and have used Craniosacral methods throughout their careers.
What makes this approach different is that it looks at the relationship between the skull, spine, and nervous system together. By combining careful assessment, gentle hands-on care, and strong clinical experience, we aim to help patients improve comfort, movement, function, and quality of life.
These techniques are very gentle, but gentle care can still create meaningful change.
