Chiropractors analyze the spine and body (chiropractic science) with the intent of harnessing the body’s inborn potential to heal itself (chiropractic philosophy) and apply adjustments in order to return the body to harmony (chiropractic art).

Chiropractic cares for the spine.  When the joints of the spine are in better alignment, painful conditions will tend to improve. Scientific literature has shown that chiropractic care is effective in the management of back pain, neck pain and many forms of headaches.

As the spine improves so also do other areas of health.  Over its 109 year history, the profession has recorded anecdotal evidence from millions of satisfied patients documenting its ability to improve a host of symptoms such as hyperactivity, learning disabilities, colic, asthma, migraines, intestinal problems, allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, mental clarity, mood and overall wellness.

Chiropractors are primary contact health care professionals. Government legislation designates a chiropractor as a Doctor of Chiropractic, which means that a medical doctor referral is not required to consult a chiropractor. As well, chiropractic care is covered by most extensive health care insurances.

Chiropractic Techniques

Core Insight recognizes that the needs and preferences of patients are all unique. For this reason, we utilize a number of methods and practices to ensure that each treatment is tailored to the individual. This approach allows us to provide the best possible result for a variety of health concerns.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Over time physical traumas, chemical toxins and negative mental states can accumulate and overcome the body’s ability to maintain an internal balance (homeostasis). If this balance is disturbed, spinal misalignments (vertebral subluxation) can occur, which can lead to nervous system interference. Through the use of specific spinal adjustments chiropractors are able to bring alignment back to the spine, thereby removing nervous system interference. This removal of the interference, and return to homeostasis, allows the body to function and heal itself.

Chiropractic adjustments may focus on the spine, but they can be delivered to any joint of the body. It is not uncommon for chiropractors to care for problems in the feet, knees, hips, wrists, elbows, shoulders and jaw.

Total Body Modification (TBM)

TBM is a chiropractic technique that improves the function of the body’s physiology. Using muscle testing and body point stimulation, it identifies body regions, organs or functions that are causing a health problem. The practitioner adjusts a sequence of spinal misalignments in order to restore the proper function to the body. As a holistic approach, TBM incorporates the structural, chemical and mental-emotional components of disease.

Natural Healing

Natural Healing is a technique that aims to quickly restore proper mind-body communication and promote healing. Integrated physiological function is based on the communication capacity of the entire nervous system. The various stresses and traumas the body experiences compromise this communication. Subsequently, the body’s choices for optimal or original function are significantly limited.

Active Release Technique™ (ART)

ART is a patented soft tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with this technique.

Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The ART provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. These treatment protocols – over 500 specific moves – are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. This method ensures that patients receive a treatment unique to their needs.

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)

NET is a chiropractic technique that normalizes unresolved physical or behavioural patterns using a structural adjustment. In times of stress, experiences can cause negative emotional responses to become “locked” into our nervous system. These “locked” emotional responses can lead to symptoms and poor health. NET is a methodology used to identify and eliminate these “locked” emotions so that the body’s natural healing process can repair itself.

Neuro Emotional Anti-Sabotage Technique (NEAT)

NEAT utilizes the NET methodology to identify “locked” emotions that contribute to unhealthy and counter-productive behavioural patterns. Removing these “locked” emotions helps a person to achieve any goal, and is often used to support success in such areas as personal health, finance, career, relationships and sport performance.
